If you will be visiting Walt Disney World soon, and have planned on where your littles can meet with every princess, you will need to take note. Merida has been relocated to the Enchanted Glades Gazebo at Liberty Square. Please excuse me, I dropped my bowl of sour grapes and had to pick them up.
Merida is one of our favorite princesses, as you can see in the photos below, and she had what we thought was the perfect meet n greet spot for her. After more than a decade at this perfect location in the Fairytale Gardens, Merida was moved on July 9, 2023.
Merida’s relocation is to make way for a new meet n greet for Mirabel from Encanto later this year. At the new Encanto-themed attraction, guests will be able to enter the film’s magical Casita and meet Maribel.
Disney has not announced when this new meet and greet will open but construction is scheduled to be through Fall of this year. It could be open in time for Halloween festivities at the Magic Kingdom.
For now, Encanto fans can see Mirabel as part of the Adventure Friends Cavalcade, which happens daily at the Magic Kingdom.
Brave fans can still see Merida at the Magic Kingdom daily during the Festival of Fantasy parade, and as well as intermittently in Liberty Square at the Enchanted Glades Gazebo (see map from Disney app).
Though I am not thrilled to see Merida leave her perfect spot, Encanto fans will surely be happy to see Mirabel finally get a permanent spot at the Magic Kingdom.
