I have been doing a Weekly Reset every weekend for a few years now. This puts me in the mindset of having a well-organized week. As an ISFJ personality type I like to know what I am doing and I like being prepared. Having a plan ensures that I will be able to accomplish all the things I want to accomplish in the most efficient way possible. I need this to maintain peace and calm in my life and to get all the things done.
My weekly reset consists of:
Meal planning for the week – I start by going through my recipe binder. I have made a recipe binder of low-carb dinner meals and this, along with Pinterest and YouTube, is how I decide on the meals for the week.
Preparing my grocery list – I try to select meals for which I already have at least some of the key ingredients. For the rest, I create a grocery list of the remaining items needed to complete the meals.
Ordering and picking up groceries – I use the Walmart Grocery Pick Up near my home. I have found that this saves me so much money when compared to going to the store and being tempted by foods I should not be buying. It is also very convenient during Covid-19 when I would rather not be in a store around others.
Decorating my planner – My planner is my lifeline. It is also the only creative outlet I have. I decorate it with washi tape, stickers and beautiful pens and markers. Then I write in everything I need to get done for the week. This is one of my most important steps for success.
Meal prepping as needed – If my recipes call for a lot of chopped veggies or proteins, I will go ahead and do that on Sunday before the week starts. This gives me a good headstart for days that are really busy right up until dinner time.
Noting special to dos – I note any special to-dos with highlighter. These are things that are out of the ordinary like taking something to the cleaners or picking up cards or gifts for a birthday, for instance. This reminds me that I need to get that done and it doesn’t get lost in my daily plans.
Noting tasks from my Cultivate What Matters tending list for the week – Every month I create my Tending List from my Cultivate What Matters life planner. The Tending List includes monthly, weekly and daily action items. I note the weekly and daily action items in my weekly planner. I also note any monthly item that has a specific due date that falls within that week.
Do you have a Weekly Reset routine to keep you organized? If so, I would love to hear how you do things as well. Please leave a comment sharing your ideas and thanks a bunch!
Have an awesome week!
